Course "Physics. Solid State Physics "is designed for third-year students of technical universities for faculty with advanced study of physics. Lectures reads, Associate Professor of General Physics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) Raevskii Alexander Osipovich.

The course examines the modern concept of solid state physics, many of the themes of the course are currently relevant theoretical and experimental studies of the world's leading physics laboratories.

Detailed important topics of modern science as photonic crystals, models of weak and strong coupling, the Fermi energy, the rectifying properties (p-n)-transition, two-dimensional character of the motion of electrons in MOSFETs and graphene, the classical and quantum description of spin waves, neutron stars.

The course consists of 10 subjects. Each topic contains a theoretical material, some demonstrations, practical tasks. Theoretical calculations carried out with the help of knowledge based on the integral-differential calculus, vector algebra, calculus, differential equations solutions foundations, foundations for solving equations of mathematical physics, probability theory.
